ECRI Institute

St. Martinus University and ECRI Institute (formerly ECRI), have established a cooperative affiliation agreement by which they will be co-sponsoring various conferences, including Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit, in such possible areas as patient safety, environmental health and safety, evidence-based health care, and computerized medical records. ECRI Institute, located in the Philadelphia, PA area community of Plymouth Meeting, is a nonprofit organization that dedicates itself to bringing the discipline of applied scientific research to healthcare to uncover the best approaches to improving patient care. As pioneers in this science for nearly 40 years, ECRI Institute marries experience and independence with the objectivity of evidence-based research. ECRI Institute is designated a Collaborating Center of the World Health Organization and an Evidence-based Practice Center by the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), a component of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY, Fairfax, VA

the largest state university in Virginia, has two articulation agreements with St. Martinus University:

  1. An Accelerated M.D. Articulation Agreement by which students must observe the prescribed curriculum (subject to change) set forth on the St. Martinus website (with a 3.3 GPA (3.5 GPA for transfer students)) and be selected jointly by George Mason and St. Martinus. Such students can complete their last 12 credit hours as first year medical students at St. Martinus University Faculty of Medicine in Curacao, paying the standard St. Martinus University tuition, and receive their George Mason Bachelor's degree in Biology or Biochemistry at the end of their first year of medical school at St. Martinus.

  2. A Guaranteed Admission Articulation Agreement by which students who meet the pre-med requirements (subject to change) of St. Martinus (with a 3.3 GPA) are guaranteed admission to St. Martinus University. Students who do not have the prescribed 3.3 GPA can also be considered under the regular admissions program of St. Martinus University.
    New semesters for freshmen begin three times a year in early September, January, and May. Admission is on a rolling basis. Applications should be submitted at least four weeks before the start of each semester. Admissions decisions usually are made within one week.
