( SMU fidelity reward 2004-5rev 2)

General Introduction

Thi terms and conditions applicable to the Fidelity Reward Program for the academic year 2004 are set forth below.   The “Fidelity Reward Program” (“Fidelity Pre-payment Plan” or in short “Fidelity Reward”) is a program suitable for students of sufficient financial means with a strong academic background that wish to commit to completing their education at St. Martinus University, and wish to obtain a financial benefit from pre-paying their tuition.   The following are the general guidelines that apply to this program:

§                 The student has proven his or her academic potential in previous institution/program, and has fulfilled the academic criteria of St. Martinus Univerisity

§         By entering into this program the student is entering into a contractual agreement to complete the MD degree at St. Martinus

§         The student backs up this commitment by making a pre-payment of all tuition due for the complete program in order to secure certain financial advantages

§         All regular rules and regulations, academic requirements and provisions for advancement and promotion continue to apply to the student

By making use of the Fidelity Reward the student can enjoy the following advantages:

  • Take advantage of a substantial financial reduction of tuition charges for the program
  • Not have to worry about increases in program costs in upcoming years

The following are the specific terms and conditions that apply to this program:

Responsibilities of the Student

1.1  It is the student’s responsibility to remain in good standing at all times and to follow all the rules and regulations of the University, including the academic regulations and guidelines, attendance and dress codes, and honor code.

1.2  The student understands and accepts that obtaining a MD degree requires hard work and dedication. The student is prepared to commit to completing the MD degree requirements of the University.

1.3  The student will at all times try to avoid academic probation or having his/her overall grade point average drop below 1.80.

1.4  The student will refrain from actions that could lead to being expelled or to dropping out of the program.

Responsibilities of the University

2.1  The University commits to administer a quality education according to the standards set by the University.

2.2  Fair treatment of the student according to the guidelines of the University.

2.3  In case a serious reason exists for the student to withdraw from the program, the University will extend its cooperation to the student.  Such reason should be acceptable and to the satisfaction of the University.

2.4  The University commits to stick to the tuition charges as they stand today.  Any tuition in the future will be absorbed by the University and will not be passed on to the student.

Admission and Other Applied Criteria

3.1  The student has to follow the same application procedure and adhere to the same admissions standards as any other student that applies to the University

3.2  The student understand and accepts that no exceptions will be made in admissions process, nor will any admissions or academic advantage be given to students that opt for the Fidelity reward program.

3.3  A student that opts for the Fidelity reward will continue to be eligible for any merit based scholarship program offered by the University.
